Starting as a researcher for filmmaker Errol Morris, Nick has had a 25-plus-year career in documentary filmmaking with the privilege of producing thoughtful and stylish arts-centric programming for television and the web. Nick served as the longtime head of Art21’s production department, acting as series producer for the Peabody Award-winning PBS broadcast series Art in the Twenty-First Century and the Webby-nominated digital shorts series New York Close Up, which he also co-created. As a director, series producer, and consulting producer for Art21, Nick has been directly involved in the production of 400 (and counting) films which have been screened at over 100 film festivals across the world—including AmDocs, BlackStar, DOC NYC, FullFrame, Newfest, Palms Springs ShortFest, Provincetown International and Rooftop Films—and have been honored with a dozen Vimeo Staff Picks. In his current role, Nick works across departments to ensure all of Art21’s content meets the industry-leading visual and editorial standards for which the organization has been celebrated, leads the development of new programming, and explores new distribution and revenue-generating opportunities.
