Today, we are pleased to open the application process for the eighth year of our professional development initiative, Art21 Educators. The program is designed to support K—12 educators interested in bringing contemporary art, artists and themes into their classrooms.
Art21 Educators begins with a six-day Summer Institute in New York City and continues during the school year through online sessions joined by members of the entire Art21 Educators community.
Educators across all disciplines—arts, humanities, math, science, and beyond—are invited to apply. By bringing contemporary artistic practices to multiple disciplines, we hope to expand application of the arts to encourage critical thinking and creative problem solving in students, regardless of subject matter.
Each educator should apply individually. Accepted applicants will be paired with a program alumni mentor to develop lasting one-on-one relationships committed to expanding artistic practices in classroom environments.
If you’re an educator looking to bring more contemporary art to your classroom, or if you know an educator who might be interested in the program, consider applying today! Applications are open until Monday, March 19, 2018.
