Art21 concluded a successful Fall 2025 season, marked by acceptances and screenings at renowned international festivals. The recognition received at these festivals expands Art21’s reach, with the organization making its debut at three new festivals, with screenings in Italy, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, and Ohio, bringing the voices of contemporary artists to new audiences.
Beyond its festival presence, Art21 also contributed its expertise as a proud event sponsor of DOC NYC. Director of Production, Nick Ravich, participated in the panel “Focus on Shorts” He spoke alongside Nick Canfield, Paul Moakley (The New Yorker), and Ava Wiland (RAVA Films) in a discussion moderated by Tracie Holder.

Several Art21 films were screened at Artecinema in Naples, Italy, including:
- Sophie Calle in “Between Worlds” (2025), directed by Bryan Chang and Leah Galant.
- Dyani White Hawk in “Between Worlds” (2025), directed by Bryan Chang and Travis Wood.
- “Howardena Pindell: Inner Circle” (2024), directed by César Martínez Barba.
- “Puppies Puppies (Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo): Radical Transparency” (2024), directed by Drew de Pinto.
In addition to screening recent films, the festival also selected to feature Vija Celmins in “Time” from Season 2 of Art in the Twenty-First Century, drawing from Art21’s enduring archive to highlight the artist’s lasting impact.
“Things Don’t Have to Be Like This” (2025), directed by J.M. Harper, screened at the Bushwick Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York.
“Hyeree Ro’s Precise Ambiguity” (2025), directed by Andrea Yu-Chieh Chung, was featured at KAFFNY Infinite Cinema in New York, New York.
“Guadalupe Maravilla’s Mariposa Relámpago” (2025), directed by César Martínez Barba, was selected to screen at three festivals: CineFest Latino Boston, in Boston, Massachusetts; Cucalorus Film Festival, in Wilmington, North Carolina; and Charlotte Film Festival, in Charlotte, North Carolina, where it received Special Acknowledgement for Best Cinematography.
In addition to artecinema, “Puppies Puppies (Jade Guanaro Kuriki-Olivo): Radical Transparency” (2024), directed by Drew de Pinto, also screened at NewFest (The New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival) and Baby Teeth Film Festival, both in Brooklyn, New York.
“Amy Sillman: To Abstract” (2024), directed by Ian Forster, was screened at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
“Lawrence Abu Hamdan: Politics of Sound” (2024), directed by Ian Forster, screened at the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“Aliza Nisenbaum: Painting from Life” (2023), directed by Ian Forster, screened at Queens World Film Festival in Queens, New York.
