Tyler McPherron Cinematographer
Tyler McPherron is a director of photography and cinematographer specializing in commercials, documentaries and music videos in the San Francisco Bay Area. He got his start as a cinematographer shooting a year-long, fifty-part documentary series for YouTube in which he travelled to ten cities in the U.S. and shot five short documentaries in each city. As a member of Yours Truly, a collective of filmmakers and storytellers focusing on helping musicians tell their stories, Tyler worked and collaborated with some of his favorite musicians, including Future Islands, FKA Twigs, Moses Sumney, Sylvan Esso, and Toro y Moi. His clients now include Google, Pixar, Target, Facebook, Microsoft, Kraft, Intel, Levi’s, Method, Uber, Nest, Casper, One Medical PBS, ESPN, Fox Sports, Complex, Nowness, and Pandora. For Tyler, there is nothing more interesting than real life, which is why he’s drawn to non-fiction stories that shine a light on some sort of truth. He especially loves to work with artists, musicians, creatives, and anyone who has a point of view worth sharing.
