Art21 Debuts New Documentary Short “I Wanna Be With You Everywhere”

Featuring the artist collective I Wanna Be With You Everywhere and directed by Andrea Chung and Adam Golfer, New Documentary Short to Premiere on June 25, 2025

New York, New York—June 11, 2025—Art21 today announced the release of “I Wanna Be With You Everywhere,” a new documentary film featuring the artist collective of the same name. Directed by Andrea Chung and Adam Golfer, the film premieres Wednesday, June 25 at 12:00 p.m. ET on Art21.org and YouTube.

Steered by the artists and writers Amalle Dublon, Jerron Herman, Carolyn Lazard, Park McArthur, Alice Sheppard, and Constantina Zavitsanos, the cross-disability collective I Wanna Be With You Everywhere (IWBWYE) produces uniquely accessible events for an ever-expanding vision of the cross-disability community. Recognizing that through a lack of access, disability communities are often barred from cultural institutions and social resources, the collective creates expansive models of creative access.

“We—disabled folks, disabled artists—often do a lot alone,” says a member of the collective, Jerron Herman. “It takes a little bit of courage to say, instead of allowing systems to separate me and to isolate me, I want to be a part.”

Capturing the greater IWBWYE community at work and at play, this documentary short embraces the collective’s commitment to an aesthetics which incorporates collectively made creative access by imaginatively integrating audio description, open captioning, descriptive audio narration, and ASL interpretation into the film itself.

From the time that we first met IWBWYE in person and through the year-long process of creating this film, we were struck by the way that the artists collaborate and care for each other as they work toward the unified purpose of building cross-disability communities and making it possible for people to be together. As IWBWYE transformed our understanding of the word ‘accessibility’ beyond its common usage and invited us to think about accessibility as a site of potentiality, we were inspired to reflect those ideas on a formal level in the film—building on the thoughtfulness and intentionality that already guide our work, and deepening them in response to the collective’s vision. We’re thankful to the artists and excited to amplify their work through Art21,” said co-directors Andrea Chung and Adam Golfer.

As part of its commitment to digital accessibility and to further celebrate the spirit of I Wanna Be With You Everywhere, Art21 recently conducted a WCAG 2.0 accessibility audit of Art21.org, and continues to enhance it for accessibility and usability for all visitors.

Tune in to the digital premiere of “I Wanna Be With You Everywhere” on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. ET at Art21.org and on Art21’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/art21org
