From the Executive Director: Sneak Peek at Art21’s 2025 Stories

Curious what’s ahead for Art21 in 2025? Our latest trailer previews eleven productions currently in the works set to premiere throughout the year. Through Art21’s signature approach to storytelling, expect deep insights and intimate access into the creative voices shaping our time. This is a great time to tune in on a group of artists who will help us navigate a new tomorrow.

This year, we return to artists we love like Miranda July and Guadalupe Maravilla, offering fresh perspectives on their creative processes and motivations as they each make work that impacts audiences beyond the confined spaces of art and into the realms of literature and healing, respectively. Meanwhile, new films spotlighting cutting-edge artists like Arthur JafaAnne Imhof, and Hyeree Ro introduce their innovative artistic approaches across the media of film, music, performance, choreography, and sculpture. This is an intergenerational and interdisciplinary group and we hope it offers a bit of something for everyone. As always, our films and the artists they portray create space for connection, critical reflection, and exploration of the unfamiliar, illuminating a way forward in uncertain times.

As you anticipate these new releases, I recommend taking a look back at one of the many films (575 to be exact!) in our library, available at Art21.org. You might also pair your viewing with one of the many public exhibitions featuring Art21 artists happening worldwide—several of which we’ve highlighted below.

We can’t wait to share these stories with you.

Watch the trailer.
