Join Art21 and The Studio Museum in Harlem on April 5 at Maysles Documentary Center for a screening of two films from our New York Close Up digital series, featuring artist Jordan Casteel.

Together, the films offer an intimate portrait of an emerging artist at work as Casteel photographs the people in her Harlem neighborhood before returning to her studio to paint her subjects’ portraits in monumental scale and vibrant color.

Following the screening, Casteel will join Art21’s executive director and chief curator Tina Kukielski for a conversation and Q&A.
