This Week in Art 12.11-12.17: Cao Fei Selected for Major Guggenheim Commission

Last week the Guggenheim announced that Cao Fei is one of five artists selected to create works for the third and final phase of the museum’s Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Chinese Art Initiative. The new works will debut as part of the multi-year research, curatorial, and collection-building initiative on May 4, 2018.

Also this week, the American Prairie Reserve announced that Maya Lin has been named the recipient of the second annual Ken Burns American Heritage Prize, which recognizes those who have advanced our collective understanding of America’s heritage and the “indomitable American spirit of our people.”
